The Best Alternative for Fixing the PS3 Blinking Red Light
Many gamers have seen the YLOD or the yellow light of death in their PS3s firsthand. Others also refer to it as the blinking red light and the red light of death as the green light after turning the PS3 on will become yellow, and later will be red and continue on blinking. If something like this occurs, it could be that the console has some major technical trouble. There are some possible reasons why this problem happens, but there are two things that PS3 experts have recognized as the primary culprit.
hardware Damage and Malfunction
The GPU or chipsets is connected to the motherboard with the use of solders. Once the PS3 is used for a lengthy period of time, it has a tendency to overheat. If the owner will continue utilizing the device in such way, the solders will melt and re-solidify after cooling off. This melting and re-solidification of the solders leads to the hardware to break off from the motherboard. If this happens, it often leads to PS3 YLOD.
